Orb was co-founded by Thiel Fellow Alex Taylor and Retired National Guard Chief Safety Officer Brian Davis. Based in Lowell, Michigan, Orb builds drones for the Department of Defense and for Commercial use across the globe. Orbs are designed to fly into post-disaster situations like hurricanes, EMP attacks, or conflict areas to restore communications (internet and cellular service), restore power (electricity), and serve as a logistical support infrastructure (which parts of the community need blood, water, baby formula etc.). 

 

Their aircraft are built to be cost effective enough for ministries and non-profits and resillient enough to be used by our troops across the globe
